Zhu had always wanted to try set design,or more like to make sets for a space. So when K extended an invitation to create sets for PPP, Zhu said yes and suggested - if the concept is about bags, why don’t we put sets into bags? PPP loves this idea.
They never called it a campaign shoot because that is more like a project unto itself. They sourced local fabric stores and even ROSS (an American chain of discount department stores). During the process, they coined a term, ‘bagging’, meaning ‘to have something within’. In the end, they bagged two chairs with a mysterious blend of white cotton sheets and ribbed tank tops as the sets.
K made a shotlist of millions of ways to wear and use PPP’s bags from project1. They spent three days immersed in ‘bagging’ and attained a long contact sheet of images in an anti-poetic, instructive style to talk about the possibilities in PPP bags, or maybe in bagging.
This subproject includes images of PPP’s bags being used in many fantasized ways at a ‘bagged’ space, and showcases a manual for mastering PPP’s versatile bag design.
